Define job readiness at the material line

The direct answer is that an available balance can help a planner, but it is not proof that the job has the material needed to begin. The displayed quantity may sit at another site, belong to another legal or maintenance entity, be reserved, quarantined, expired, damaged, awaiting inspection, superseded, inaccessible during the shift, or mismatched to the asset's exact configuration.

Readiness should be evaluated for each planned material line. The record should name the asset and configuration, job plan and revision, part and manufacturer identifiers, approved substitute rule, required quantity, unit, store and bin, lot or serial where relevant, condition, shelf life, reservation, pick status, issue authority, staging point, expected returnable core, and the person who confirms the field handoff. A generic green balance should not close those questions.

Reconcile stock, reservations, purchases, and physical custody

CMMS, ERP, warehouse, purchasing, vendor, and technician records may each hold part of the material truth. Keep planners and field owners in the release decision

Material readiness is one part of work readiness. The job may also depend on operations release, permits, isolation, drawings, procedures, tools, access, labor, contractor availability, environmental conditions, and compatible operating windows. A complete material kit cannot authorize work, and a ready status should not imply a safe asset condition or approved maintenance release.

Then reconcile the product's record to the warehouse and ERP and verify that named planning, stores, operations, engineering, and field roles retain their separate approvals.

The registered Accruent page establishes current provider positioning for Maintenance Connection as CMMS software supporting work orders, preventive maintenance, asset management, and inventory tracking. It does not establish physical inventory accuracy, the correct part for a specific asset, an approved substitution, a complete job kit, safe work authorization, restored function, or an improved reliability result.

A defensible review also identifies the dependency outside the product. Authority interpretation, policy configuration, data quality, integrations, human judgment, approval rights, release governance, training, and retained evidence may remain customer or service responsibilities. The evaluation should preserve those boundaries instead of treating a technology claim as the complete operating model.
