MAINTENANCE OPERATIONSLEDGER

The operating record for assets, work, and reliability.

Coverage desk

Failure analysis

Source-backed reporting and analysis connected to the companies, capabilities, authorities, and operating domains it affects.

A Cryotos root-cause field is not a verified failure cause

Cryotos documents downtime tracking with root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action records, and MTTR or MTBF reporting. A maintenance team still needs asset, event, operating-state, evidence, method, review, and correction lineage before a label can support reliability learning.

MVP One job permissions need role-and-action tests

MVP One says administrators can define roles and permissions down to the job level. Maintenance leaders should test the exact records and actions each role can see, change, approve, and export rather than treating a role name as an access-control result.

Cityworks Respond needs a field-connectivity fallback

Cityworks' current Respond 5.8 guide says the browser-based field interface requires a constant network connection while supporting continuous updates. Maintenance buyers should test what technicians do during a loss of service, how work state is protected, and how delayed evidence is reconciled after reconnection.

Ramco asset retirement needs physical-to-ledger closure

Ramco presents an EAM lifecycle spanning planning, acquisition, deployment, management, and retirement. Closing a retirement proposal still requires separate proof of operating-state authority, physical decommissioning, custody and disposition, environmental or legal obligations, fixed-asset derecognition, and any replacement approval.

A ManWinWin API write is not maintenance-work approval

ManWinWin says customers receive an API for integrating with other applications and presents maintenance requests, work orders, purchasing, inventory, cost, and budget functions. An inbound API event still needs source identity, asset matching, demand triage, authorization, duplicate control, and result evidence before it becomes trusted maintenance work.

An Eptura assistant answer needs a dated maintenance record

Eptura says its maintenance assistant uses live work orders, asset history, and schedules to help teams plan and assign work. A usable answer still needs the exact source records, retrieval time, asset identity, operating context, cited evidence, reviewer, disposition, and later result.

A Cityworks GIS link does not establish an asset's field condition

Cityworks' GIS-centric work model can connect assets and work records, but maintenance teams still need dated observation, method, scale, evidence, and disposition before treating a mapped asset as condition-assessed.

AssetWatch recommendations need work-release and result evidence

AssetWatch documents condition monitoring, prioritized alerts, expert analysis, maintenance recommendations, and asset history. A recommendation becomes a maintenance action only after the team verifies the asset and operating state, diagnoses within evidence limits, plans the work, authorizes safe execution, records findings, and confirms the resulting function.

A Planon budget view is not an approved maintenance funding plan

Planon presents budget management alongside work orders, preventive maintenance, lifecycle data, vendors, inventory, procurement, projects, and analytics. A consolidated view can support cost control, but approved funding still needs a defined asset and work population, cost basis, period, accounting treatment, scenario, authority, and change history.

A Fiix asset hierarchy needs a physical-configuration owner

Fiix documents drag-and-drop asset hierarchies and grouped maintenance work. The hierarchy still needs identity, parentage, location, boundary, effective date, and engineering ownership.

Maximo 9.2.1 does not approve a maintenance-system upgrade

IBM's release record lists July 2026 Maximo Application Suite and Manage releases. The record starts—not completes—the asset, work, integration, validation, and cutover decision.

Fracttal intake still needs a maintenance-demand decision

Fracttal One documents request intake and conversion into work orders. The request still needs asset identity, observed condition, consequence, scope, priority, and planning authority.

An SAP warranty record is not proof a vendor accepted the maintenance claim

SAP's current Asset Management page documents asset master data, maintenance requests and orders, spare parts and services, execution records, and cost analysis. Those internal records can support a warranty evidence package, but vendor acceptance requires a separately preserved claim, counterparty response, decision, and credit or settlement record.

An Asset Essentials work-order assignment is not an approved maintenance job

Siemens Asset Management Software presents Asset Essentials as a CMMS for work-order and asset-management activity, including technician assignments and access to maintenance history. An assignment places work with a person or crew; it does not establish that the job is fully planned, authorized, safe to execute, or ready at the asset.

A Maintenance Connection parts balance is not job readiness

Accruent documents Maintenance Connection as a CMMS for work orders, preventive maintenance, assets, and inventory. A displayed on-hand balance can support planning, but a maintenance job is not ready until the correct part, revision, condition, quantity, location, reservation, and field handoff are confirmed.

An IFS Ultimo digital work permit still needs field isolation verification

IFS documents enterprise asset-management capabilities that integrate digital work-permit administration, validation, lockout-tagout, incident management, and management of change. A controlled permit record can coordinate the work, but it cannot prove that energy sources were physically isolated and verified at the asset.

A Limble work-order priority is not asset criticality

Limble documents work requests, work orders, preventive maintenance, task priority, and resource planning. A priority field can order today's queue, but it cannot replace the governed asset-criticality record used to judge business, safety, environmental, quality, and reliability consequence.

A Prometheus resource schedule is not a maintenance release

Prometheus Group presents planning and scheduling around enterprise maintenance systems. A resource-feasible schedule can organize work, but it cannot confirm that the asset, site, materials, permits, hazards, operating state, and accountable owners are ready to release the job.

UpKeep recurring work needs a result-level inspection record

UpKeep presents a mobile CMMS with work orders, preventive-maintenance scheduling, inspections, routes, asset records, and maintenance history. A scheduled or closed PM can show that workflow occurred, but inspection evidence still requires the correct asset, instruction, condition, measurement, result, qualification, exception, and approval.

A Senseye insight is not a confirmed failure diagnosis

Siemens presents Senseye Predictive Maintenance as an asset-monitoring and predictive-maintenance environment that uses machine data and analytics to surface attention. An insight can prioritize investigation, but it does not prove the failure mode, remaining life, production consequence, or correct intervention.

Maximo condition data does not decide the asset investment

IBM presents Maximo as a connected environment for asset performance, condition-based maintenance, work, risk, cost, and investment scenarios. Condition evidence can change the decision, but maintain, refurbish, replace, defer, or retire remains an accountable portfolio choice with service, safety, financial, and uncertainty boundaries.

MaintainX work-order closure does not prove restored function

MaintainX presents mobile work-order creation, assignment, tracking, procedures, and maintenance communication. Closing that administrative record can show workflow completion, but restored function still needs acceptance evidence tied to the asset, task, and accountable operator.

Oracle's maintenance forecast is a work-order precursor—not completed work

Oracle's current Maintenance documentation separates the program, work requirement, forecast, and preventive work order. That chain can organize planned maintenance, but a due date or generated order does not establish execution, asset condition, safe return to service, or reliability outcome.

EPA RMP and OSHA PSM do not share one mechanical-integrity scope

EPA’s Risk Management Program and OSHA’s Process Safety Management standard address chemical-accident prevention under different authorities, scopes, and records. A shared equipment list or CMMS plan cannot decide which program applies or merge their accountable duties.

ISO 55002 guides asset-management-system application—not a maintenance checklist

ISO 55002:2018 provides guidance for applying ISO 55001 asset-management-system requirements. Its public scope spans all asset types and organizations; it does not prescribe a universal preventive-maintenance task list, inspection interval, work-order design, or safe operating decision for a particular asset.

ISO 41001 starts facility-management scope with demand objectives

ISO 41001:2018 frames a facility-management system around effective service delivery that supports the demand organization’s objectives and interested-party needs. A CMMS or IWMS feature inventory cannot define that operating scope by itself.

ISO 13374 separates signals from maintenance decisions

The public ISO record frames software for acquiring, processing, communicating, and presenting machine condition information. It does not prove input quality, diagnosis accuracy, configured interoperability, or the right maintenance action.

ISO 55012 makes people involvement an asset-management control

The 2024 guidance places culture, awareness, competence, human factors, and the work environment inside the asset-management system. A training-complete flag cannot represent that operating record by itself.

ISO 55000 sets the vocabulary—not the system requirements

ISO 55000:2024 provides the asset-management overview, principles, and terms. ISO 55001 carries the management-system requirements, so buyers should not treat a 55000 reference as certification evidence or a substitute for operating records.

IEC 60300-3-14 makes supportability a lifecycle decision

IEC 60300-3-14:2024 connects supportability and support to reliability, maintainability, availability, performance, cost, and risk across an item's life. Maintenance software should expose those tradeoffs rather than reduce support to a spare-parts list.

NRC’s maintenance rule makes intended function—not work volume—the control

For covered nuclear-plant structures, systems, and components, 10 CFR 50.65 centers monitoring on performance or condition against licensee-established goals. Effective preventive maintenance can change the monitoring path, but completed work orders alone do not establish that intended function is being maintained.

IBM Maximo Application Suite 9.0 reset the release baseline

The June 2024 general-availability record matters because buyers need to distinguish suite release, application version, deployment state, support, and current feature channel.

Condition-monitoring buyers need an alert-to-work test

Augury, Tractian, AssetWatch, Infinite Uptime, and Nanoprecise all publish machine-health records; the buyer decision turns on data quality, diagnosis, intervention, workflow, and verified result.
